JPS 1/48 USN Carrier Flight deck

Scott Van Aken

Dense Foam resin base.

Right after completing the latest masterpiece, one is always looking for the proper display item. If you have just finished a naval aircraft from the 1940-mid 1950s time frame, then this is what you should have. The masters at Just Plane Stuff  have produced another of their dense foam bases just for those of you that want to have the best. This 9 x 12 inch base is molded complete with a 'frame' so that all you need to do it paint it and place your latest beauty upon it.

Included with this base is a full historical background on US carrier deck surfaces, staining, coloring and marking. In this 10 page supplement are all the various paints and mixtures needed to ensure that your JPS base is perfect. Not only is it good for USN aircraft, but during WWII, 30 US carriers were used by the Royal Navy, most of them in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. This allows one to build a variety of British subjects and also use this base.

The detailing on the base is really superb as you can see from the image to the right. It even includes the 'wood' grain for the framework around the base. If you demand the best, then this is it.
