Mike Grant Decals 1/48 B-58 #2

Units: 6592 TS & ARDC

Scott Van Aken

If you have read the review of the first sheet, you know that Mike Grant has produced some fine sheets for the Monogram 1/48 B-58 Hustler. This is the second of the two sheets and covers basically test aircraft.

The first aircraft is a rather plain looking B-58 from the 6592nd test wing at Carswell AFB. It is a named bird called 'Super Sue'.

The other is a red trimmed test bird from ARDC at Edwards AFB and the one that will probably be built most often from this sheet. In addition to the red tail, it has red wing tips. The white bands are supplied as decals as are the usual badges.

Now you may be thinking to yourself, it would really be nice if common markings and stencils were available. Well, Mike has seen to that as well and has produced a sheet that is devoted to just that.

As you can see from the image to the left, this sheet is just a well printed as the unique markings. They are also regular waterslide decals printed in the usual manner as are the two unique markings sheets. The printing is equally crisp  and in register. Highly recommended as a companion sheet to the unique markings sheets.
