One doesn't usually see aftermarket sheets for short run kits, but since the Czech Models kits are usually produced in greater than the normal run, it makes sense that they'd be a good candidate for this. Though by no means an easy kit to build, the 1/48 Skyknight can be built into a very nice model as you may recall from my build earlier in the year.

As much as I'd have liked to have had this sheet at the time, we now have at least two of them with this being the first. There are three distinctively different schemes on this sheet, with insignia for two of them if one is the sea blue one, and tail hook stripes for all three.

First up is from VF-11 'Red Rippers' in late 1983. This overall gloss sea blue aircraft has a red fin tip, black radome and 'buff' tail cone.

Next is a VMCJ-3 F3D-2Q in light gull grey over white. This is a companion squadron to one of the kit options.

The third is my favorite in a white and international orange training scheme. This plane was flown by China Lake . This and the previous scheme have unpainted metal leading edges to the flight surfaces. You'll note this uses the wing insignia with the white surround to the upper portion.
