This particular set will allow the builder to do a prototype XF9F-2 or XF9F-3 and has the additional benefit of allowing a Blue Angels F9F-2 without the tip tanks to be done. The set includes replacement wings, original style speed brakes, various probes and a set of larger horizontal stabilizers. These latter items were used briefly for directional stability testing. One should note that on the prototypes, the wings folded straight up and not at the angle of production aircraft. As you have come to expect, the quality of the resin is first rate and the molding of the parts is such that removal of the bits from the pour stubs will be very easy.

All prototypes were in unpainted metal and markings are available on Yellowhammer sheet 48040. The Teknics set includes the usual outstanding instructions with photos and a detailed description of what has to be done to perform the mod (which in this case requires almost no alterations to the kit aside from covering up the nose guns).
