This is the fourth edition of Luftwaffe Im Focus and it continues with the same types of things that you have come to expect from the folks at Start. This one maintains the same basic format of the others by having sections on various types of aircraft as well as some stories and histories as well as some quite unusual photos.
All of the photographs in the book are superbly done and most are published here for the first time. There are sections on Fighters, Bombers, Recce aircraft and others. A very interesting series of photos on personal emblems with a skull and crossbones on a Bf-110. Just to toss in my observations, it seems as if the aircraft on the bottom of pg 22 and the one at the top of pg 23 are not the same as there are differences in the markings so it is quite possible that this is a unit marking unless the pilot went through several different airframes. I also found the snake markings on the side of the Ju-52 to be quite interesting.
There are also some period color images and the story of Ernst-Gunther Klatt of a Bf-110 recce unit as well as Rudolf Dreesmann of JG 51 and JG 302. What I found most interesting in this edition are the images of an all black Bf-109G-6/AS of I./EJG 2. This is the aircraft that is featured on a recent LIF decal sheet.
