Queen's Blade (Japanese: クイーンズブレイド, Hepburn: Kuīnzu Bureido) is a Japanese series of visual combat books published by Hobby Japan inspired by the licensed works from Firelight Game Company's Lost Worlds. The overall plot revolves around a tournament called the Queen's Blade, which is held once every four years to determine a Queen. The series has become an anime.
This figure is Alleyne, who is an elf weapons master and a fairly minor character in the works and in the anime. She appears sporadically in order to further the flow of the series. While she is generally more fully clothed, there are scenes where she is wearing a fairly minimal amount of clothing. As elves live with nature, that clothing is generally constructed of leaves. It is not surprising that E-2046 would have chosen this level of clothing for its figure.
| THE KIT |
This
was one of the last figures I bought from E-2046 and it has been probably 8-10
years ago. I got to the point that I knew I'd never build them all and while new
ones are still being produced, both the desire to add more to the stash and the
now very high cost, thanks to tarrifs, has kept me away.
Pretty much all of the kits from this company are superbly cast and this one is no different. There are generally large attachment points and ofthen they are such that no filler is needed. Even the mold seams have been removed from many of the parts. The instructions are such that an exploded view is all that is required to assemble them. There are additional sheets included to provide some hints and to instruct on how to apply the eye decals. The kit also includes a print of the completed figure. Personally, I've never used these decals, preferring to paint the eyes, but they are a nice touch.
| CONCLUSIONS |
This kit is not, of course, for everyone and is at a minimum PG-16, however, for those who do like this sort of thing and those looking for something a bit different, you cannot go wrong.
