HISTORY

Oda Nobunaga, is a main character in Battle Girls: Time Paradox. She is the female Lord of Owari and a warrior, her main goal in the anime, is to capture all pieces of the Crimson Armour, with the help of her two retainers Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide, which will help her conquer, unite, and rule Japan. Nobunaga, is shown to be physically the strongest of all the characters in the series and has control over fire.

THE KIT

After watching the Battle Girls anime, I ordered this kit from E-2046. I should mention that I've not ordered a figure kit from these folks for at least a decade and a half so this one has been sitting in the stash for at least that long. I picked up this figure as I enjoyed the anime and like scantily clad figures. This one meets both requirements. One thing about these types of figures from E-2046 is that the molding is superlative. There are never any air pockets, miscast bits and the folks who produce these take the additional effort to remove all but a sliver of the resin casting blocks. They even go so far as to sand away most of the mold seams on large pieces. The engineering is such that the pieces fit very well and often in such a way that you can prepaint pieces prior to assembly. To top it off the pieces are packaged separately and E-2046 packages their kits in such a way that they arrive from their trip from Hong Kong in perfect condition.

If there is a downside to these figures it is that shipping can be quite expensive for the large ones. In addition, there is no assembly guide for most of these; simply a photograph of the completed model. In addition, no painting guide is given, but then again, this is not all that unusual even for military figures.

The kit provides 25 pieces, most of which are pieces of armor. by far the largest piece is a single piece cloak which should have its mating points reinforced with wire just to be sure there are no issues later on. The parts diagram has this cloak in three parts, but it is a single casting. Unlike later kits, this one does not have decals for the eyes, which many find the most difficult to paint. In reality, they are not difficult to do once one has built a few of these kits. Note that the face tattoos will need to be painted as well.

Unlike many other E-2046 kits, this one does not offer a nude option so if ordering this for that feature, you will be disappointed.

CONCLUSIONS

Those of us who have built figure kits from E-2046 have liked them and find that the fit is such that the kit can go together fairly quickly. Some of them are quite complex both in the number of parts and the painting requirements. Simple ones like this would be a fairly good way to get into this segment of the hobby.
