E-2046 1/8 Mina on Knees, previewed by Scott Van Aken

Mina Majikina is a character in the Samurai Shodown series of video games. Despite being a main heroine, she is a withdrawn and introverted woman. She distrusts people, unsure of how to act around others without being suspicious of them, due to being simultaneously revered and reviled for her powers. She has little regard for her own welfare especially after absorbing the evil energy in Chample, conceding to be doomed to live a short life.

As an exorcist by profession, she is wary of objects and people with unusual powers, sometimes branding them as evil despite not necessarily being so. She suspects people or objects even remotely exhibiting suspicious powers as an ayakashi, that she seeks to destroy for the greater good. As usual, she has huge tracts of land.

THE KIT

As usual with E-2046 kits, this one is superbly cast with no casting blocks and most of the seams already removed. Attachment points on this one are mostly butt joins, but that is not an issue with this one as it is a pretty small (19cm height) figure compared to many of the others that I've bought and built. Probably the most difficult will be attaching the hair pieces and the ribbons.

The kit does not provide eye decals as is the norm with their newer offerings. One thing not included is any sort of base. E2046 does sell bases separately, but most modelers will have access to someplace to purchase such an item. Stores like Michaels and other hobby shops will have rough cut wood bases that will work just fine.

Again, probably not everyone's cup of tea, but a well designed figure that should be a good one for the modeler new to doing these sorts of things.
