CONSTRUCTION

I figured this would be an easy figure to do. Few partsand pretty easy painting. Well, as I started to clean up the kit, my initialenthusiasm turned to despair. This kit has an incredible number of flaws in it. Rough spots, incomplete molding (especially in the hairand fingers), resin blobs everywhere there is a detent and air bubbles galore.

Were I not a person who doesn't toss kits in the trash, I'd havetossed this kit in the trash! I looked upon it as a learning experience and achance to try some skills that I have never tried before. I spent the firstcouple of days cleaning up what I could and filling the various holes. The worstoffenders were between the lower legs and on top of her breasts. Naturally myfriends had all sorts of comments about artificially enhanced boobies when Itold them about this part!

I used A+B Epoxy putty for most of the really nasty areas andsmoothed it as best as I could. I also used Mr. Surfacer 500 and 'regular'filler. Much time was spent applying areas of epoxy putty and then rescribing inthe detail that was lost or missing from the original. After about 3 weeks ofdoing something every day, I got the arms and body to be pretty well done. Thesethen got the primer treatment to see what I had missed.
