NOTES:

1/48 scale for  all 1/48 F-14 kits

When refueling from USAF tankers, a real problem with Tomcats was that the In-Flight Refueling (IFR) probe door was often torn free from the airframe. Apparently their drogues are larger or the boom operator is the cause of the problem. Regardless, In order to keep that from happening it was not uncommon for these doors to be removed from the airframes. This was pretty much standard practice during the Afghan and Iraq wars.

Those wishing to model F-14s from this time period will need to cut out that door and install this replacement IFR bay. The modeler will need to install a piece of tubing or rod to represent the IFR probe.
