I am a fan of the SWPA strafer B-25s. I'm not sure why that is the case and maybe it is the neat artwork they carried, but there it is. Unfortunately, no 1/72 B-25 kit, including the new Airfix one, provides the gun packs used by the B-25C/Ds. These packs were developed in theater and were then built by an air depot (in Hawaii, I think), for installation on the planes.

These differ considerably to the factory ones later installed on B-25Js and on B-26s in that both of the side guns were inside the same housing.

This set is listed as recommended for the B-25J, but to my knowledge that variant never had this type. However, a B-25 is a B-25 and this pack should work fine for an Italeri or even on the new Airfix kit.

Now perhaps Airfix will do a strafer in a future boxing, but if you want one now or want one for the Italeri kit, this is what you want to get.
