The French aerobatic team, the Patrouille de France flies the Alpha Jet in its public performances. This jet trainer has proven to be the perfect mount for the team and like the aircraft of other national teams, is modified to perform this function. As plumes of colored smoke are a trademark of national aerobatic teams, a tank of the special oil they use to inject into the exhaust is needed. In this case, the tank replaces the centerline gun pod that the Alpha Jet can mount. It is different from the standard gun pod casing and so Pavla has kindly provided this as one of their resin upgrade parts. One simply removes it from the pour stub and attached it to the lower fuselage, ready to be painted.
