REVIEWER: Scott Van Aken
NOTES: Resin

Often times the offerings in a kit are poorly shaped or at some times missing. Many years ago, I was planning on building a series of 1/72 Mosquitos so I orded a number of upgrade parts from Paragon in the UK to help with doing the specific variants I had planned. As so often happens, I only actually completed one, a B.XVI using the Matchbox kit.

One of the sets of which I ordered was this set of two stage Merlin engines. These were the standard engine for later marque Merlins (like the B.XVI and B.35). These are identified by the additional intake just behind the prop. I am unsure what kit this one was designed for, but I imagine it was the Matchbox or Airfix kit. The set provides both the open and closed exhaust so you can use it on whichever variant you are doing. There are no instructions, but then this is a pretty straight-forward conversion. Anyway, this is a nice set, and though Paragon is out of business, it should be something you can find with some searching.
