NOTES: Resin and metal.

Two years ago, Master Details released a cockpit set for the then-new Revell 1/32 He-111P. It was not produced in large numbers and sold out very quickly. Since then, the set has been improved based on earlier experience and they have found a more reliable way to produce a larger quantity of these sets so they are now available once again.

This is very much a multimedia set with parts in both resin and in metal. Both media are very well done and nicely detailed. As you can see from the images, there is some light flash on the resin parts and the small sprue lines have generally been left on the metal parts. I had one resin part broken in transit, but both will not be difficult to repair. It is what happens when you have a lot of parts jostling about. The metal parts are in two separate bags while all the small resin bits, and some are quite small, are in their own bag. The larger resin parts were loose in the main package.

Instructions are quite complete. There are two full pages of construction information, basically consisting of exploded views. There is no parts guide and none of the parts are numbered, but it is not difficult to figure out what is what.

There is some preparation required in terms of removing material from the kit cockpit section in order to install these parts and one should carefully test fit everything prior to cementing as super glue is not very forgiving of goofs.

A third sheet that contains detailed drawings of the pilots seat and all the various linkages for the control column and rudder pedals is provided. The set does not require all of these linkages due to the "impossibility to accurately mold", so these will need to be manufactured by the builder. However, you are provided with an excellent set of plans by which you can do this.

Due to the high level of detail, it is not a set for the beginner, but by careful constructing the set, it will turn into a superb replica that offers a lot more detail than what is provided in the kit.
