Cat 4 1/48 A-7A/B Corsair II Intake

This particular piece is a replacement intake for the 1/48 Hobby Boss A-7A/B Corsair II. When Hobby Boss did their series of A/7s, they must have used the ancient Monogram/Aurora A-7A as inspiration as they totally botched the intake section, making it oval when it should have been more circular. This set fixes that issue.

It consists of two lower forward fuselage sections, a new forward intake, and the boarding ladder and step covers. This one requires a fair amount of cutting to remove the kits lower forward fuselage and the first inch of the separate intake piece. While it may appear daunting, the set provides full instructions and if you can cut a straight line, you are in business. Personally, I would have liked to have seen the intake lip as a separate piece, but then it would have probably meant sanding away the antenna detail on it. The resin casting itself is top rate.
