For those of you wondering where the  nose was for the Black Box RF-4C interior set, well it is here and it isn't. You see, it appears that there was a slight problem with the molding of this nose and it wasn't caught on early batches. The problem comes in that the bottom of the nose isn't perfectly flat as it should be. Those who have one of these curved noses simply have to send in the product id card in the box (that is the rectangular black and red one) to BB in order to obtain a replacement.

Aside from the curve, the set itself contains a complete replacement nose, two intake scoops and two aerodynamic fillers for the forward Sparrow missile bays. I do believe that the aft bays also have to be filled in, but this should be an easy task. No clear bits are provided, but these are easily made from clear acetate. The instructions are quite clear about what goes where so there shouldn't be any problems with it. I would have liked a template for the clear pieces as it would be most helpful.

As you can see, this is the earlier and most widely used nose. It should also be useful for doing an RF-4B. Later versions had a smoother camera bay and I wouldn't be surprised to see this version also done by BB in the future. Any way you look at it, this combined with the previous interior will finally give us a proper RF-4.
