Guess one really cannot have enough stuff for the fabulous Bf-109 and here is an additional bit for those who like their 109s big. This set from Aires is for the Bf-109G-6, but could just as well be used for the G-14 kit as well as the cockpits are essentially the same. While many may think of this set as gilding the lily, others find such stuff as essential for any model.

Well one thing for certain there really are not that many bits to a WWII single engined fighter. The set includes a tub, sidewalls, instrument panel, control stick, cannon housing and gun sight in resin. All the rest is etched metal. This includes the trim wheels, instrument panel faces, rudder pedals and some knobs. The seat belts are in etched metal, but with a twist. You get separate belts and buckles. The idea being that you'll thread the buckles with the metal belts and that will look more realistic. OK. Frankly, were I to do this, I'd use either paper, real cloth or lead foil with the buckles before using the etched belts. That way you can get a more realistic bend out of the belts and harnesses. However, it is an interesting approach and I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has done this.
