For the Trumpeter kit |
For some reason, Trumpeter's research is sorely lacking and they have made
a major shape error with their 1/32 F-100D kit (as well as the Huns of the
smaller scales). They formed the intake with a flat lower surface that
rather sharply goes vertical to the upper section. Not at all as on the real
deal. It is a major screw-up that Trumpeter has made no effort to correct,
though it would be fairly easy to do.
To fix this error, Zactomodels has produced a resin correction set for the
intake. It consists of two pieces; the forward intake itself and an intake
cover, should you decide to use it. It is an easy upgrade as one simply cuts
off the extant nose and then glues on the replacement. If you have this kit,
then you really need to look into this set.
The casting is top notch and instructions are complete and easy to follow.
