NOTES:

also includes 1/72 markings

Here is the second sheet of planes from the 343 Kokutai. As mentioned in the previous review, this is a dual scale sheet providing both 1/48 and 1/72 markings. All the white markings are double printed in case you wish to put one atop the other to ensure they are properly opaque.

The Hasegawa kit is recommended.

First plane is C-45 of Lt. Takashi Oshibuchi. His has two fuselage bands. As with the others, his plane is painted Kawanishi Navy Green on the upper surfaces and is left bare metal on the undersides.

B-20 is the aircraft of an unknown pilot. Like many of the 343 Kokutai, the aircraft number was repeated inside the hinomaru on the fuselage.

A captured aircraft numbered TAI 001 is next. It has the tail code painted out in Olive Drab and US insignia over the Japanese hinomaru. I suspect the one upper Hinomaru has been overpainted in Olive Drab though the instructions mention nothing about it. The additional lower one would have been easily removed with paint stripper.

Finally, A-02 of Lt Masai Matumura. His aircraft carries no banding. It is believed that the wing insignia had no white surround, but those are provided if you wish to use them.
