This latest sheet from MAW Decals covers seven different A-4 Skyhawks, all from H&MS (Headquarters and Maintenance Squadrons). The decals themselves have enough insignia and other bits to do all three planes, though you'll need to use the data markings from the kit. Though not specifically mentioned, most will use the Hasegawa kit for this though you could also use the Classic Airframes version Stay away from the Fujimi TA-4 as it is underscale.

This one is simple as most are in overall light gull grey and white. That is certainly true of the H&MS-11 plane with the yellow band, as well as the unbanded H&MS-12 plane, the blue band with stars H&MS-13 Scooter, the thin blue band H&MS-32 aircraft and the very nicely done all white H&MS-42 aircraft.

The one in brown/green/sand camo is from H&MS-13, while the one in basically greys is from H&MS-31. Not all of these are armed so check the decal placement guide. Speaking of which, this is provided on a CD. You get both sides as well as top and bottom views in full color. There is no information on the plane aside from the year for which the markings were photographed. I have to assume this was done due to cost. I have no problem with this method, as one can simply print out what is needed for the option that is being done.

Decals are superbly printed by Cartograf, which seems to be the de facto printer of choice for a lot of decal companies and kit makers. I'm quite pleased with this particular sheet as I've a penchant for H&MS units and this will finally get me off my butt and to building a twin seat Scooter.

Overall a fine sheet and my thanks to MAW Decals for the review sample. You can get yours direct from the link above.
