For their third sheet, MAW has chosen VMFA-122 'Crusaders' as their subject. This includes markings for two aircraft and portrays both the squadron commander's plane and a standard line bird. I like the ability to do a non-fancy aircraft as the vast majority of what you'd see on the ramp are going to be like this. The commander's plane has a very colorful centerline tank which, like the tails, will need to be painted blue prior to applying markings.

Both options are in the standard colors of FS 36320 over FS 36375, two colors that are often quite similar to each other. The sheet includes LEREX walk ways and replacement vent decals. Apparently the kit vents are the wrong shape so those will need filled and the decals applied. The instructions show where these go. A note says that the SJU-17 seats are going to be needed. Oddly, this and the previous sheet don't tell you for which kit these decals are fitted (unless it is in fine print and I missed it), but I'll assume it is the Hasegawa version. If using the Monogram kit, be aware that the tails are a bit undersized so the tail decals may well be too large.

The instructions are well done and include a load-out chart.  Insignia and data are included for both as well as a sheet of 'slime lights'.

Overall a fine sheet and my thanks to MAW Decals for the review sample. You can get yours direct from the link above. Free shipping in US. International orders e-mail them at mawdecals@vfdecals.com for rates.
