For the second 1/72 P-47D sheet, here are two aircraft from the 84 FS/78 FG. This unit used RAF colors to paint its Thunderbolts after they'd been delivered in bare metal. They rightly figured that if one is doing ground attack, that it might not be a bad idea to have some camouflage. Of course the white and black checkered nose sort of takes away from that.....

Anyway this sheet is fitted to the Revell kit. The little blurb about Tamiya is a glitch as this sheet is basically downscaled from an earlier 1/48 sheet. WIth a bit of adjustment, the nose marks should fit just about any of the other 1/72 P-47 kits around.

First up is 'Thoroughbred'. It is camouflaged win RAF Dark Green over Sky. It has black bordered recognition stripes and uses a Hamilton Standard prop.

A similarly camouflaged 'Eileen' (the subject of the Academy kit), has a black rudder, lower fuselage D-day stripes and plain white recognition stripes on the tail section.

There are insignia for both and data markings for one.
