Yup, another F-18 decal sheet. I said a while back that the F-18 was very well represented in 1/72 as far are Superscale sheets are concerned. Fortunately, this one has some Hornets with a bit of color in them.

The first one is the CF-18A from 439 Sq (Sabre Toothed Tigers). This was one of the three units, along with 421sq (Red Indians) and 409sq (Nighthawk) that made up 1 Canadian Air Group in Europe during the Cold War. Once the wall came down and the Soviet Union, went away, these three squadrons were disbanded as Hornet squadrons. At least I know that 439 was. Last I saw, it was flying UH-1s! (Update: 439 Sq is flying T-33s and CH-146s; the rest have been disbanded)

Next is a VX-4 Hornet. VX-4 (now combined with VX-5 as VX-9) was tasked with undertaking weapons trials so always had at least one or two of every tactical aircraft so it could check to see if weapons system modifications worked properly.

Finally, the CAG bird from VFA-137 (probably the third or fourth VFA-137 bird done on a Superscale sheet!). This one is marked as assigned to the USS Coral Sea.

As for available kits, you have a number of them in 1/72, but I do believe that the Hasegawa one is the best one around.
