Everyone likes helicopters, don't they? If so, then why don't folks build a lot of them. When I attend the various invitational shows in this part of the US, I'm lucky to see a half dozen if that many. It is a bit odd as there are a huge number of helos around. Not a day goes by when I don't see one or hear one.

This old Microscale sheet has five UH-1s of various variants on it. Typical of many old Microscale sheets, this one has the red slightly off register so you'll have to do some trimming as well as finding replacement US insignia. Though there are five sets of data, the Army birds didn't have the intake warning markings or many of the other stencils. Again, the use of photos of the plane in question are the best bet, especially as the drawings all show what seems to be a UH-1D/H and only one scheme is for that particular type!

The first aircraft on the sheet is a UH-1N from NAS Agana, Guam. It was used for SAR and is listed as being glossy sea blue with red bits. I can tell you from my time on Guam and the helos around in 1980 had replaced the sea blue with white and the red with international orange.

Next is a UH-1B from 1st Air Cav circa 1966 at An Khe in Vietnam. Standard matte OD with a black anti-glare panel. This particular chopper had red skids.

The UH-1H is another 1st Air Cav ship with red-orange horizontal stabilizers.

From HAL-3 is this very dull and non-descript  UH-1B.

Finally an Operation DeepFreeze UH-1N from VXE-6 in overall insignia red, circa 1975. Again, check references as it could be international orange instead of red.
