Here is an oldie but goodie when it comes to the F-4 Phantom. Though several of these schemes are available on much newer sheets, this one has them all together. For kits you have a wide variety to choose from. The wealthy will go for the Hasegawa kits while many of the rest of us will plunder the swap meets for Fujimi, ESCI and Italeri kits. These are not quite as nice, but are generally available for a lot less, and to many, that is as important a consideration as detail. All of the subjects on this sheet are in the standard SEA camouflage of FS 34079, 34102 and 30219 over 36622. The sheet has stencils for two, and insignia for three. I find the insignia to be a bit odd in that they have no blue border. I've always thought that was for F-15s and not applicable to the Phantom, so I'll be looking to aftermarket sheets for the proper blue bordered insignia.

First up is "Ol Bullet" an RF-4C  from an unlisted unit. However, one of my many tail code references states it is the 11 TRS/432 TRW out of Udorn, Thailand.

Next is "Hillbilly Slick", also from the 11 TRS. However, this one is an F-4D and obviously used for protection of the recce birds.

From the 469 TFS/388 TFW comes "Betty Lou", an oft modeled F-4E.

On to a 'nearly ace's' plane; "Scat XXVII", an F-4C of Robin Olds. If the truth be know, Olds probably was an ace in Vietnam, but he tended to give credit to others in his unit, the 555 TFS/8 TFW.

"Wrecking Crew" is from the 34th TFS/388 TFW and another frequently modeled shark-mouthed F-4E.

Finall, one of Steve Richie's F-4Es from the 58 TFS/33 TFW. This one has the slime lights on it.
