This early Microscale sheet covers three USN F-4s. All the planes are in the light gull grey and white scheme. Insignia for these aircraft will have to come from the kit, spares box or a separate insignia decal sheet. Same thing for the stenciling. No recommended kit is provided, but it would have been the old Airfix or the then-new first generation Hasegawa kit, complete with ultra-thick plastic and rivets! Nowadays, the third generation Hasegawa 1/72 F-4s would be first choice, though the Fujimi kits would be equally nice. Other options would be Monogram for the F-4J and possibly ESCI or Italeri, if you have them at hand.
First aircraft is a VF-22 F-4J from the USS America. Though it seems to me that the fin should be yellow, I guess not. I'll have to check references for this one. Most unusual that unit and ship name are on the fin instead of fusealge.
Next is the CAG bird from VF-31 when they were flying F-4Bs from the USS Saratoga.
Finally, everyone's favorite USN unit, the Jolly Rogers. This time it is VF-84 from the USS Independence. The all black tail and yellow tip will have to be painted. It also seems to me that the wing and stab tips were yellow as well. Check reference photos to verify this.
You may notice that lettering seems a bit odd, but it is what was used at the time.
