Here is the first B-17G sheet I can recall being put out by Superscale in a long, long time. This is a 91 BG aircraft with the ret section in the tail and is called 'Hikin' Home'. It has the usual girlie art, though it is rather subdued. Though nothing is said about it in the instructions, it appears to have the late Cheyenne tail turret and probably has staggered waist gun positions. Several references are given so it would be wise to check them before starting.

You may notice that both serials have been somewhat 'split' (as in a gap) between the sixth and seventh number to cover the parts that will be on the rudder on the left side. It seems that this may be a half-goof as the split would be after the first two numbers on the right side. No worries as it is an easy fix.

The only kit I know of for a 1/48 B-17G is the now rather old Monogram kit. Old, but still makes into a super model.

Again, the sheet has been cropped to eliminate some of the common markings to save a bit of space.

As a late note. Noted aviation artist Robert Karr has been researching this aircraft and has informed me that "... it should be blue lettering and a yellowy/tannish/orangy dress."  Apparently Superscale used an incorrect illustration from a Squadron book for this sheet. Fixing it won't be easy.
