A nice Phantom blast from the past. I believe that I covered these markings in 1/72, but this is the 1/48 sheet. Both are in variations of low visibility schemes, with one in what became the Tactical Paint Scheme (TPS). For kits, most will go for the Hasegawa version as it really is the only decent choice (unless Tamiya decides to start doing F-4 kits in 1/48).

First is an F-4N from VF-154. This is in an earlier scheme where all the color was removed from the markings, but the markings themselves retained their original size. Really not a bad scheme and one that is easy to paint as it is overall gloss gull grey!

The VF-171 F-4S is about as low visibility as you can get. Small insignia and minimal markings. Even the wing code on the tail is miniscule. It appears to be an early F-4S without slats, but with the intake RWR antennas. I'd do some reference checks to verify the configuration of this one before building. The 'slime lights' are applicable to this set of markings.
