Delving back into some really old Microscale/Superscale sheets is this one for the A-7E in 1/48. Now back then you only really had two choices for kits. One was to take the Monogram A-7A and modify it. Not a bad idea, but you need to realize that the Monogram A-7 was actually a made over Aurora kit! While doing up the gun area would not have been too difficult, finding the correct wheels and a few other additions to the airframe could have been challenging. The other option was the ESCI A-7E kit. While this is an actual A-7E in most respects, the kit is a disaster and should be avoided at all costs!

This particular sheet covers two aircraft in light gull grey and white. All of the various data stencils have been provided, though you'll have to get the national insignia from the kit or other source.

First plane is the VA-37 bird with some blue trim and the unit badge on the fin. This one also has a sharkmouth of sorts and has 'horns' just under the windscreen.

The other plane is from VA-86 and is much more colorful being the CAG bird and all.

Fortunately, we now have the very nice Hasegawa A-7E kit to use for our Corsair IIs so don't have to rely on those older beasties when it comes to modeling! As with other sheets, I've cropped off the common markings.
