This is a rather early Superscale/Microscale sheet for the F-4 Phantom. At the time this was released, the ESCI and Monogram F-4s were about the only ones around. Many converted the Monogram F-4C/D into the naval version as it was probably easier to do that use the ESCI kit, which had a rather poor cockpit. As with all early sheets, the common markings (i.e. insignia, intake warning markings and the such) had to come from the kit or another aftermarket sheet. Interestingly, the instructions call for 32" fuselage and 48" wing decals. Well, good luck finding them as most aftermarket sheets have decals that are in 5" increments. You'll find a 30" or 35", but not a 32"!

Both aircraft are in the light gull grey over white with white control surfaces. The VF-151 aircraft has a white radome. You'll notice that the unit info doesn't match the actual drawings. These things happen quite frequently from decal makers. You'll also notice that the VF-151 bird has a black surround to the cockpit canopies. Thanks to the accepted practice of applying rather flamboyant tail markings, Navy and Marine planes of the time were properly colorful.
