One of the first really accurate 1/48 Hellcat kits was the Otaki F6F-3 of the early 1970s. This kit included engraved detailing and a fairly nice cockpit, something few other kits provided. Over the years this kit has been reissed by Arii (who bought Otaki) as well as AMT. Despite its age, it is still one of the most accurate Hellcats on the market and is not at all a fiddly build. Starfighter Decals has bought the Medallion models line and is reissuing their products in higher quality resin and without the air pockets and other casting glitches one often got with Medallion's molding.

This set includes a complte cockpit that includes consoles, rudder pedals, sidewall details and a seat that is ready for you to install a harness. A very nice addition is a set of flaps. One simply cuts out the old ones and installs these. The set comes with complete installation instructions that include photos and color information as well.
