NOTES:

For Revell/Matchbox kit. Alps printed

For years I have been wanting a set of markings for the SH-2F SeaSprite in 1/48 scale. However, my pleas, and those of others, have fallen on deaf ears, it seems. Now, Starfighter Decals has provided a very nice set that has markings for two aircraft. Well, there are full markings for but one aircraft, but if you glean what comes with the kit, you can do two of them.

The first option is a UH-2C from HC-1 aboard the USS Enterprise in 1965. I had always thought that the C model was a single engine, but doing some research, discovered that it wasn't the case at all.

The other is a standard SH-2F from HSL-33 that is listed as based at NAS LeMoore in 1980. This unit soon moved to NAS North Island along with all the other West Coast LAMPS squadrons to simplify advanced maintenance and parts storage.

Both aircraft are in FS 36081 Engine Grey with yellow tail bands and red/yellow tailplanes and struts. The red portions of these markings are provided.

These decals are ALPS printed and have a clear coat over them to protect them from damage, but one still needs to be careful. Only the weakest of setting solutions (Microscale) is recommended.
