NOTES:

For Hobbycraft kits.

Once agin, Starfighter Decals comes through with a superb set for an older kit. This is for the Hobbycraft kit, that has also been boxed by Academy. It includes markings for six aircraft of the 16th Pursuit Group based in Panama during 1939 and 1940. All of the aircraft are in the then standard overall unpainted metal with flat black anti-glare panels. All but one, that is. The sheet itself is superbly printed by Cartograf. I should also mention that there are serial data markings for all of the aircraft as well.

The first option is the group commander's aircraft. This one does not show the black anti-glare panel. The nose cowling is segmented into the three squadron colors of red, white and yellow. This as well as all other cowling colors will need to be painted. This aircraft also has the option of two colors of wheel covers.

Next are two aircraft of the 24th Pursuit Squadron. These have the black and yellow wheel covers and yellow cowlings.

A lone aircraft from the 43rd Pursuit Squadron is provided with its red cowling.

The 29th Pursuit Squadron gets two options, one of them looks to be the squadron CO's plane with two black stripes. This has white for the cowling color.

These planes all have squadron badges on the fuselage side. The sheet has enough common markings to do two planes. Wing walk markings are also part of the sheet. A great option for the modeler who likes pre-war aircraft and these are quite colorful to boot. The full color instructions show exactly where to place the markings, including prop logos and antenna wiring.
