Starfighter Decals has released a new sheet for those modeling somewhat modern carriers in 1/350 scale. In particular, this sheet covers the S-3A Vikings that were delivered to VS-24 Scouts during their initial outfitting with the type.

The sheet provides markings for a full squadron of Vikings numbered 700-707 and 710. I noticed that all the serial numbers of the planes are nearly sequential, something that rarely happens except when first receiving a new type.

Each set of markings includes the nose anti-glare panel, the upper fuselage walk area, the different shade of the fiberglass over the back seat positions, intake warning stripes and even little engine fans. The recommended kit for this is by Trumpeter. Tamiya also produced a 1/350 Viking in their modern aircraft set, but no guarantee this set will fit that kit. The set comes with full painting and markings placement information. This is a perfect set for either those who are really limited on display space or those who want to do the whole squadron.
