Notes:

I read the other day on rec.models.scale the posting of a fellow who was lamenting the lack of interesting decal sheets for the F-100D kit. Obviously this guy had not read a Microscale decal book as there are at least 6 great sheets for the 'Hun' in the Microscale inventory. Of course, it could also be that he just didn't know where to look for them, however, they are not difficult to find.

This particular sheet has markings for three very colorful F-100Ds. All of them are overall aluminum or bare metal (check your references to be sure). Two of them are wing commanders aircraft as shown by the multi-color stripes.

The first one is from the 50th TFW  and is a wing CO bird with the multi-colored tail stripes.

Next is drabbest of the group from the 511 FBS/405 FBW. This aircraft has a blue nose band and tail markings.

Finally, the most colorful of the three, in my opinion, is from the commanders aircraft from the 474 FBW. It states that the aircraft is assigned to 429 FBS.

For those of you that are unaware FBS stands for Fighter Bomber Squadron. This term went away in the early 1960s when they were redesignated Tactical Fighter Squadrons (TFS). Nowadays they are just Fighter Squadrons, a usage that hasn't been around since WWII.

There are sufficient common markings for all three planes though insignia will have to come from another source. Any of the three will look great on your model shelf.
