For the new Hasegawa and upcoming Trumpeter 'bubble-top' P-47Ds, this sheet covers two late war Thunderbolts in overall unpainted metal with OD anti-glare panels.

The first aircraft is 'Dottie Mae' with a most fetching female figure in a Santa Suit. This aircraft was the last P-47 lost on during the war when on the last day of hostilities, the pilot flew it too close to Lake Traun in Austria and as a result of the prop touching the water, was pulled in. The aircraft has red tail ID stripes and the yellow cowling front and canopy frame of the 511th FS. This plane was recovered in 2005 and is currently being rebuilt to flight status.

The other is 'Shack Rat' from the 63rd FS/56th FG. This aircraft has a red cowling and black tail ID stripes. The nose art is on an OD panel and part of the red cowling. There are several anomalies on this plane including uneven D-Day fuselage stripes and a cocked over left underwing star. Probably wouldn't want to enter this one in a contest as the judges will undoubtedly gig you for it!

As with all Pyn-Up decals, not only is the nose art marking highly detailed, but there is an extensive historical discussion on the aircraft. Any doubt is clearly stated and it allows you to make up your own mind on things. Photos of the real aircraft are included in the instructions, and there is a full stencil suite sheet (not shown) and guide provided. These sheets are limited to 300 copies so if you want it, you need to get it soon.
