The most successful US fighter of the last 40 years has to be the F-16s. It has gone through multiiple upgrades and has been built by several nations in Europe and in Turkey. It has also gone on to be part of mulitple foreign air arms. Some of these were new build planes, while others were surplus. Even surplus aircraft have several thousand hours of operation left in them so they are still a good deal for the recipient nation, especially as they are generally overhauled and provided upgraded systems prior to sale.
This sheet from Print Scale covers the aircraft flown by three nations:
Venezuela, Indonesia, and Romania. These aircraft are a mixture of standard US
style airframes and those with a parabrake housing, that is more frequently used
by overseas nations. The first nation is Venezuela and there
are three
options for planes of this nation. All three are in the US SEA camouflage scheme
of two greens and a tan over light grey and all have the parabrake. Next is
Indonesia, whose planes also have the parabrake. In this case, there are four
planes in two distictive camouflage schemes. Finally, a Romanian aircraft that
came from US stocks so does not have the housing. This one is in three greys and
you are provided three different serial numbers, though only one set of
insignia.
Each of the Venezuelan and Indonesian aircraft provide full insignia markings. There is a complete set of data and stencils for one plane, but you could easily glean what you need for a second, third or fourth plane from the kit instructions. Instructions are a bit of a mixed bag. You are provided a profile as well as upper and lower color camo scheme. However, all the color info is simply listed without pointing out what color goes where. The color choices are highly suspect and in at least the case for the Venezuelan planes, completely wrong. Highly recommend verifying what is listed with reality from another source. The deals themselves are superbly printed and based on previous sheets, are quite thin and opaque.
The sheet does not specify which kit to use, but these are all late model block 15 aircraft with the revised horizontal stabs. That being said, pretty much any F-16A kit with the option for the parabrake housing will work. Leave the ESCI F-16 in the box as it is a block 10 with the earlier stabs. Well worth seeking if you want some alternatives to the kit offerings.
