Apparently the MiG-21 is the most produced supersonic fighter. Not difficult to believe as it seems to have been flown by dozens of nations. It has the benefit of being a very good interceptor, but it has fairly short range, even with additional fuel tanks and has a fairly light ordnance load. It also was fairly inexpensive to purchase with the down side of less than cutting edge electronics and a fairly short engine life span before it required rework. Most nations who purchased the aircraft did not find these down sides to be a major issue as they did not fly them as much as most western nations and the Soviets/Russians provided very good support.

The MiG-21PFM was built in fairly large numbers and had several upgrades over the earlier F and PF versions. Overseas sales were fairly good and this decal set covers many of those nations. The vast majority of the aircraft on this set were in unpainted metal. The others were in multi-camouflage colors of browns and greens over light blue-grey.

Instructions are excellent and provide right, left, and upper views of the planes of each nations. Colors are provided using AKAN paints. Also included is a bit of history covering the various options. For kits, there are several companies that do PFM variants, though I'm betting most will gravitate towards the Eduard products, though the sheet is designed for the Zvezda kit (which is currently not easy to find in the US).

Nations covered are two Soviet (from the 1968 Czech invasion), Two Afghan aircraft (each with different insignia). Two Bulgarian (one of which is camouflaged and both have the old insignia), two from Czechoslovakia, two from East Germany (one of which is camouflaged), three Romanian (one of which is camouflaged and two of which have the new insignia), Finally two Mongolian (one of which is camouflaged).

The sheet is superbly printed. Any data markings will need to come from the kit markings. A sheet that is well worth picking up if you are a MiG fan.
