Once again, Leading Edge has come up with a colorful and interesting decal sheet that we didn't know we had to have until we saw it! Again, this is a Canadair CL-215 for which only Heller has chosen to kit. Probably the biggest difficulty will be finding the kit as it is not in the current (May 2004) catalogue.
As with other Leading Edge decals, the sheets are impeccably printed and I do believe that the white is double printed so that the orange background will not bleed through, for those decals seem a tad thicker than the rest. Oddly, I had the two sheets stuck together, though careful prying managed to get them apart without any damage. The surface seemed slightly tacky for some reason. I should point out that on the scan I darkened the images so that the white would show. The result is that the dark green looks nearly black.
Instructions are superb and provide all sorts of hints and suggestions. It is recommended that only the weakest of setting solutions be used and that the decals be dipped in hot water in order to get proper application. It is also recommended that the tail surfaces not be attached until after they are painted and decaled. I know I'm currently hunting for an CL.215 to use for an upcoming build!
