One kit that many of us have or had in their stash was the Heller 1/72 Canadair CL-215. Few of us have actually built it. Why? Well, for me it was the fact that Heller decals are/were not exactly the best around. The thought of ruining a fine model with less than great decals (which were often as not yellowed), wasn't something I thought was a good deal.
Well, no longer do you have to hide away your CL-215 kit. Blow off the cobwebs, chase out the bugs and get to gluing as Leading Edge has come to the rescue with a great set of decals for this aircraft.
Though the image of the sheet doesn't properly show the brilliance of the da-glo panels, these are superbly done and backed up with a nice application of white to ensure their opacity. This makes them a tad thicker than the usual, so the sheet recommends using hot water when floating them off the backing to prevent any possible problems. It also suggests using a weak decal setting solution, probably due to the possibility of the solution attacking the da-glo ink, which is rather dicey stuff.
As you have come to expect from Leading Edge, the quality of the instructions match the quality of the decals themselves. All information regarding decal placement is provided , even where it comes to differences between the two aircraft that are provided.
