AirAsia Berhad (MYX: 5099) is a Malaysian-based low-cost airline. AirAsia is Asia's largest low-fare, no-frills airline and a pioneer of low-cost travel in Asia. AirAsia group operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 400 destinations spanning 25 countries. Its main hub is the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Its affiliate airlines Thai AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia have hubs in Suvarnabhumi Airport and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport respectively. AirAsia's registered office is in Petaling Jaya, Selangor while its head office is located in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Air Asia plans to open ASEAN regional headquarters in Jakarta by August or September 2011.

AirAsia won the Skytrax World's best low-cost airline award in 2009, 2010 and 2011. It has the world's lowest operating costs at $0.035/seat-kilometre in 2010. It is also the first airline in the region to implement fully ticketless air travel system.

Kiwi Resins has now produced their second airliner sheet and this time they have gone big with the A330 and even bigger A340. The owner is choosing airlines on which he has flown and for which there are no markings available. The AirAsia scheme is a great choice as these aircraft are quite colorful in their red and white livery.

There are three options available on this sheet. An AirAsia X 330 and 340 (so called as the fin marking is in an X shape, the X standing for express) and a standard 330 with the usual 'swoop'. There are a number of registration options so if you have a photo, you can build that plane.

The sheet includes some suggested registrations as well as several photos of planes in both schemes. There are some subtle differences even within the same basic scheme and it looks as if Kiwi Decals has those all covered. Note that the sheet shown has been darkened to show the white.

It is an excellent addition to the first sheet and I know that you airliner fans will be thrilled to have it available to you. Those who haven't tried an airliner or have not built one in a long while should give it a go.
