Typically, Dutch Decal will release a decal sheet to go along with a Dutch Profile book and so they have for their new book on the F-84E/G in Dutch service

These aircraft are all in unpainted metal with dark Olive Drab anti-glare areas. The F-84E markings options all have un-reinforced canopies. Most markings are for the F-84G.

As you can see from the partial profiles I've shown, the majority of the planes have rudder stripes. These were to identify the base from which the aircraft operated. Light Blue was for Eindhoven while the red bands were for Volkel. Most options will need to have the various nose bands painted on, which is really the best way to do this. The kit provides the specialty nose band for one 314 Squadron plane (the red flashes).

Some of the aircraft also have tail bands, so read the instructions carefully. One option has a light blue fin band as well. There are two target tug options. These have yellow undersides with three broad, black stripes. They also have broad yellow upper wing bandsAgain, these will need to be painted on.

The decal set contains two sheets. One has all the colorful stuff and the other contains the codes and serial numbers. Stencils will need to come from the kit. The sheets themselves are superbly printed and quite thin. In fact, Dutch Decal cautions you to be careful when using them.

In all, an excellent sheet for some very nice looking aircraft. Definitely something different from the usual USAF markings.
