This is Kits At War's first 1/24 sheet and it is for either the Trumpeter or Airfix Hurricane kit. The sheet provides markings for five aircraft and as you'd expect, you need to glean markings from the kit's decal sheet. This is to keep down costs as just printing roundels would require an additional sheet.

The sheet does include upper wing roundels and the small fuselage ones used by one of the markings options as well as a fin flash. The decals themselves are superbly printed without a hint of mis-registration by decalprint.nl. The placement sheet and markings guide is huge and won't fit on my scanner so I'll just provide a description of each.

First are two all black Mark IIc aircraft from 1 Squadron in 1942. One is the often done JX*E of Karel Kuttelwascher who finished the war with 18 victories and the other is JX*J of R. Marcinkus, with smaller fuselage insignia.

A third all black plane from 247 squadron is coded ZY*S and has markings in much reduced size.  This plane was a Mk.IIc as well and shot down by the Germans during the famous Channel Dash.

The fourth option is a Sea Hurricane I in standard FAA colors of EDSG, Slate Grey and Sky Grey. It has no tail hook. It was attached to 880 sq at RNAS Arbroath in 1941.

Finally a Central Flying School Mk.I from RAF Upavon in 1940. This one is pretty standard with a yellow underside and the serials right under the tailplanes.

So there you have it. Five interesting options for those who want something different for their really big Hurricane model.
