| NOTES: | Reprint with new additions |
This is a
reprint of an older sheet, but with additional schemes in it. I do not know what
was removed or what was added as I don't have the initial offering, but I can
tell you that this one has five very nice offerings. All of these aircraft have
a link to a Hollywood star who put their careers on hold so that they could
serve during WWII.
First up is 'Male Call' a B-24H as flown by Jimmy Stewart with the 445th BG in Europe. As with most of the options on this sheet it is olive drab over neutral grey.
Second is
'Yankee Doodle', a B-17F as flown by Gene Roddenberry with the 394th BG in the
Pacific during 1943.
Next is an unpainted metal B-24L names 'Janie' with the 307th BG. This was flown by Sabu a 1930s action movie star.
The fourth option is another B-17F, 'The 8 Ball'. Clark Gable was a gunner on this plane in Europe with the 351st BG during 1943.
Finally a Korean War option, an OE-1 with VMO-5 as flown by Ed McMahon who flew 85 combat missions.
The instructions are excellent and provide not only profiles and plan views, but also photos of the aircraft and stars during the war years. The decals themselves are superbly printed.
