This is a welcome sheet for the Mk.I Anson. There have been two kits produced of this aircraft in this scale; one is the old Classic Airframes offering and the other is the much newer version by Airfix. All of the options on this sheet are those of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan based in Canada. These planes were used for a variety of tasks including multi-engine pilot and navigator training. The aircraft usually had the turret removed and covered over with sheet metal, but not always.
There are six options on this sheet with many of them having a base camo scheme of the usual dark earth/dark earth over sky. While not all were camouflaged, all of them had some portion in yellow as befits a trainer.
First up is a turreted plane with 7th Air Observer's School at Portage la Prarie, Manitoba. It has yellow sections on fuselage, wings, and horizontal stabilizers. Except for the areas under the unit codes on this option, all the yellow bits on all the options need to be painted.
Second is an overall yellow plane from the 4th Air Observer's School at London, Ontario.
Third is with 6th Air Observer's School at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Fourth is another overall yellow plane at Camp Borden, Ontario. This one also still has the turret.
The next option is with 6th Air Observer's School at Prince Albert Saskatchewan.
Finally another 6th Air Observer's School plane, this one turreted as well. The neat thing about this sheet is that all options are a bit different in terms of aircraft equipment or the way the yellow is placed on the plane.
Instructions provide exact info on just where the yellow bits are located. Whichever you choose, the result will be a neat model. Decals are superbly printed and provide sufficient insignia to do two options if the builder chooses wisely.
