Here is another very interesting F-84G Thunderjet sheet. This one has but two planes, but the decals for it are rather extensive, thanks to the tip tank designs.

First up is a most unusual F-84G assigned to EC 1/3 of the French Air Force. I can only guess that the painters must have been in a real hurry to get this one into service as they simply painted over the existing delivery scheme with the appropriate French unit colors. That is why there are pieces of the US insignia and 'USAF' still on the wings. It is also why there are still large areas of 'Arctic Red' on the plane.

A bit of background  on this. By the early 1950s when this aircraft was delivered, it was common practice to paint the wing and tail in 'Arctic Red' so that if the plane crashed in northern Canada, Greenland or Iceland during its delivery flight, it would be easier to find against the snow. Regardless of what unit the aircraft was being delivered, these markings were applied, later to be removed by the receiving unit. That wasn't done with this French plane, making for a really neat scheme.

The other on the sheet also has the red tail but on the wings, only the ailerons are red. This Greek Air Force Thunderjet has yellow and black checks on the tip tanks and rudder. The sheet provides the black portion of these markings and you have to paint the undersurface bits in yellow. This will also make for a most colorful aircraft when done.
