Nine options

This next sheet from Furball Aero-Designs moves back into the very modern with this sheet on the F-35A Lightning II. This time the set concentrates on USAF and foreign sales aircraft with seven USAF birds and two from foreign countries which have only recently taken to the air. The only kit for this plane in this scale so far is by Kitty Hawk. The planes are all painted the same, which is FS 36170 and FS 36270 for which there is no ready mix paint.

The first two options are from the 58 FS/33 FW at Eglin AFB, which is the training squadron for these aircraft. You get the squadron and wing boss birds.

Next are three options from the 53rd wing with the OT tail code. All three have unit tail markings with the first one having USAFWC on it and the second 422 TES. These planes are based at Nellis. The third is based at Edwards AFB and has the markings of 31 TES on the fin.

Also based at Edwards with the 461 FLTS is the next option with the ED tail code.

A standard line bird with the 61 FS/56 FW is the next option with its LF tail code.

It may be surprising to some that foreign F-35s have already started to be delivered. The next option is one of two RAAF planes that have flown so far, this being the first one in the markings of 2 OCU.

Finally, we have the initial Dutch aircraft, F-001.

The decals are superbly done by cartograf and supply enough stencil data to produce two kits. A very nice sheet for what is a growing number of aircraft.
