Eleven options

This is Furball Aero Design's second two seat Cougar sheet and this time it is for standard planes. There are eleven schemes on this sheet and there are enough data markings for you to build two of them from this sheet. Of course, you can do more with the kit decals. The only kit currently offered is by Kitty Hawk and it seems to be selling well so you may wish to nab one before they sell out as Kitty Hawk doesn't seem to do re-issues. All the planes are either overall white or white with international orange bits. Those international orange bits will need to be masked and painted as will the wing walk and nose anti-glare areas. It would have been nice to have the latter included as decals.

First up is the lone Marine on the sheet. This plane is from VMT-1 based at Cherry Point in 1962

Next is a VT-10 plane from Pensacola in 1973 towards the end of the plane's career.

From VT-21 is the next option, based at Kingsville in 1969. Note that this and two other options do not have the nose refueling probe.

In a colorful striped scheme is a VT-26 plane, also from Kingsville, but this time in 1968.

With nice blue stripes on the nose and rear fuselage is a VT-23 plane from 1969.

A more standard scheme is a VT-24 aircraft at Chase Field in 1964.

Another standard scheme is on this VT-25 plane, also from Chase field in 1966. Note that some planes had white rudders.

With a big blue tail markings is another VT-26 plane from 1968. Apparently VT-26 liked to have more color to their planes.

The lone all-white plane is from VA-43 at NAS Oceana in 1967.

In a very early scheme is this VF-111 aircraft based at Miramar in 1957

Finally a VA-127 plane based at NAS LeMoore in 1965.

The decals are superbly printed by Cartograf. A full color placement and painting guide is included that also has a data placement guide.

Overall it is an excellent choice of markings and one you should seriously consider picking up.

November 2014.
