Fifteen options |
The F-15 Eagle has been in service since 1976 or so when the first 75-xxx planes were delivered to the 48th TFTS at Luke AFB. While now only the newest build planes are still in service, it is still a potent aircraft. The A-D versions have never been modified as fighter-bombers, a situation that occurred with the F-14 in its later years. In the mid 1980s, it was determined that the standard light and dark ghost grey camouflage was not effective enough and the scheme was chaged to the darker Mod Eagle scheme. This is what extant airframes are currently using.
This sheet covers the units in USAF Europe that flew or are flying with this scheme. There are fifteen options provided and those are listed below. All but two are F-15C aircraft.
