The French have been very good at selling warplanes to other nations. Probably because they will sell to anyone who is willing to pay. As a result, Mirage jets have done very well in the air arms of other nations, including a couple in South America. These aircraft don't get a lot of decal coverage, so it was nice to see the latest FCM sheet covering several of them. Basically, you get markings for nine aircraft and can do one from each country when you include the insignia options. Additional data markings can come from the kit decal sheet.

For kits, you have a variety available in 1/48 scale. The old ESCI and Monogram kits do prototypes so are not recommended for this sheet. However, you can go with Heller or Kinetic for the Mirage 2000B, Heller, Eduard or Italeri for the 2000C, while Kinetic will take care of the 2000D and 2000N.

The Brazilian aircraft are first, and these were delivered in the standard French scheme of light grey and blue-grey. You can do either a Mirage 2000B two seater or 2000C fighter. The low viz markings for these planes will need to be painted in place and for that reason, you have masks provided. There are complete instructions for using these masks and the colors needed. It seems complex, but is very straight-forward and should provide the careful modeler with no problems. That's the grey rectangle you see in the image.

Next are a 2000C and 2000-5F from EC 2/5 and 1/3 respectively. There is also a 2000B from EC 2/15, all in the standard scheme. A 2000D from EC1/3 in the green/grey scheme and a desert camo 2000N from EC 2/3 fill out the goodly number of French options. I have to say that the French AF must have changed its numbering system from what I remember.

The Final option is for one of two Peruvian aircraft in sand and stone with a light blue-grey underside. There are two serial number options for a single and twin seat aircraft.

Instructions are well done with full color profiles and upper views also provided. There is a stencil detail sheet also offered for all those lovely data markings that seem everywhere on military jets.  Color information in terms of FS 595 references are also provided.  Overall, a fine sheet that is well printed by Microscale.

Thanks to FCM for providing the review sheet.
